Led by Tyler Whiley and Sean Paul Brophy, No. 2 Chaparral scored 29 first quarter points and led by as many as 59 en route to an easy 64-21 win over visiting 14th seeded Tolleson (8-3) in the first round of the Division I playoffs.
Whiley and Brophy got things started early and often with Brophy throwing three scores including two to Whiley and Whiley running another one in for the Firebirds' first score of the game.
With three minutes to go before halftime, Whiley broke off an 80-yard touchdown run for his fourth score of the game. A minute later Brophy threw his fourth touchdown, a 10-yard strike to Trevor Wood, to give Chaparral a commanding 50-14 halftime lead.
With the win, the Firebirds (10-1) extended their winning streak to nine games. They will move on to face No. 6 Marcos de Niza at home on Friday, the only team which beat Chaparral this season.
