The Saguaro Sabercats beat the Thunderbird Chiefs Monday afternoon, 7-5 as play continues in the Scottsdale Invitational tournament. Tom Jahnke got the win working 4 innings and only allowing 1 run while fanning 2. Turner Lace gave up an unearned run in the 7th to earn the save.

Offensively, the Cats were led by Matt Mara who homered and singled twice while teammate Ben Lagusis added 2 more hits giving him 7 in 3 games so far on the year. Turner Lace, Michael Bloom and Jake Smith had hits for the Cats and Brett Adams had a sac fly in the first to stake the Cats the lead they never relinquished. Saguaro scored in every inning and never trailed in running their record to 3-0 on the young season.

The Cats play their first Power Point game Tuesday hosting Cactus Shadows at 3:45 PM.
