McClintock senior pitcher Shealynn Zimnick had perhaps the most dominating performance of her career since she threw a perfect game as a freshman, striking out 12 in a five-inning one-hitter against South Mountain.
Zimnick struck out the side on nine pitches in the first inning and struck out the first eight batters she faced before giving up the lone hit against her, a solid single to center field by Fanny Villegas.
Zimnick finished with 12 strikeouts and no walks, earning the win with only 55 pitches, 47 of which were strikes. Zimnick improved her record to 9-6 on the season. McClintock broke open the game with a seven-run third inning.
The big blow was junior catcher Andi Blodgett's RBI triple. Junior shortstop Mary Mentz was 2-for-3 on the day with a walk, two RBI and two stolen bases.
McClintock's win was its 10th game of the season, its most since 2008.
