No. 19 Mountain View upset No. 14 Tucson High in the Old Pueblo, 55-40, on Wednesday night in the first round of the Division I girls basketball state tournament.
Sabrina Haines led the Toros (18-9) with 19 points. Cherokee Davis and Armani Hawkins finished with 14 apiece.
Mountain View will travel to No. 3 Pinnacle on Friday at 7 p.m. in the second round.

No. 23 Gilbert Christian 50, No. 10 Thatcher 44: Colleen Young scored 17 points and Leah Strittmatter added nine points for the visiting Knights. Rebecca Fritts had points and nine rebounds, while Cassidy Curtner added eight points and six rebounds. The Knights will face No. 7 Valley Christian on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Northern Arizona University Walkup Skydome.
