Updated baseball rankings, as of April 9:

Division I

1. Chaparral 16-5

2. Mesquite 17-5

3. Hamilton 15-6

4. Brophy 13-5

5. Desert Mountain 15-7

6. Gilbert 15-7

7. Mountain View 15-6

8. Cienega 17-5

9. Mountain Pointe 11-8-2

10. St. Mary’s 19-2-1

Chaparral slipped up last week in a loss to Horizon, but Mesquite and Hamilton also lost a game, so everyone stays pat in the top-3. Brophy had a pair of easy wins to stick at No. 4, but plays Hamilton and St. Mary’s this week. Desert Mountain has won three in a row to stay at No. 5, followed by a pair of teams that made a big jump. Gilbert and Mountain View were both unranked last week but move up to Nos. 6 and 7 after solid weeks. The Tigers have won 12 of their past 14 games while the Toros have won three in a row. Cienega rejoins the rankings at No. 8, while Mountain Pointe slides down one spot to No. 9 and St. Mary’s holds steady at No. 10. Corona del Sol and Red Mountain each went 0-3 last week to fall out of the top-10, and Basha has lost two straight to drop from the rankings.

Division II

1. Liberty 12-3

2. Sunrise Mountain 17-4

3. Saguaro 18-6

4. Sunnyslope 16-3-1

5. Arcadia 18-4

6. Salpointe 15-5

7. Sabino 17-5

8. Canyon del Oro 15-6

9. Sahuaro 13-7

10. Apollo 17-5

Liberty’s impressive run lately — including a win over Sunrise Mountain — has vaulted it to the top of the rankings. Sunrise Mountain drops a spot, while Saguaro went 2-1 last week and moves up to No. 3. Sunnyslope split two games last week to drop a pair of spots, while Arcadia keeps rolling to move up to No. 5. Salpointe had a great week with wins over Hamilton and Sabino to vault to No. 6, followed by Sabino, which drops three spots with the loss. Canyon del Oro and Sahuaro stay near the bottom of the top-10, while Apollo replaces Paradise Valley in the rankings.

Division III

1. Estrella Foothills 17-4

2. River Valley 19-3

3. Scottsdale Christian 12-4-2

4. Winslow 16-4

5. Blue Ridge 12-5

Estrella Foothills lost a pair of games recently but those came to tough opponents Fountain Hills and Verrado, so it remains No. 1. River Valley has won 13 straight games and ascends to No. 2, although questions about the competition persists. Scottsdale Christian won two more games last week and climbs to No. 3, followed by Winslow, which has won 11 of its last 12. Blue Ridge has lost two of its past five games and drops to No. 5.

Division IV

1. Yuma Catholic 11-2

2. Desert Christian 14-5

3. Phoenix Christian 11-5

4. St. David 16-2

5. Valley Lutheran 11-6

Yuma Catholic stays on top with an undefeated week, and Desert Christian follows at No. 2. Phoenix Christian lost a game last week but it came to Division III No. 3 Scottsdale Christian and therefore doesn’t drop. St. David went 2-0 last week to stay at No. 4, while Valley Lutheran climbs into the rankings, replacing St. Johns.
