Stephen Danford was named Arcadia's new boys basketball coach on Thursday.
Danford confirmed Wednesday night he'll replace Luke Neibling, who led the Titans to the Division II state semifinals in 2011-2012 before leaving the school to coach at Phoenix Sandra Day O'Connor.
Danford was a Titans assistant from 2007-2010, and went to Grand Canyon University to earn his teaching certificate and was a student-teacher at Arcadia last fall. He'll teach special education at the school.
Danford is originally from Oregon, where he played basketball at Chemeketa CC and Linfield College.
"I have a close connection to Arcadia, the surrounding community andĀ alumni," he said. "I am looking forward to a long and successful career in both teaching and coaching."

How young is guy??? Just finished college & has only 3 years of coaching experience (none as a head coach). I thought Arcadia, w/ all of its recent success would hire a reputable and experienced coach. He should have some talented players though.
