In a role reversal from last week, Max Shepherd beat Trae Armstrong for the player of the week vote.

The Sunrise Mountain senior quarterback is our first two-time winner this year, having been voted in for his week one performance..

Shepherd finished with 21 votes, to best Armstrong, the Deer Valley senior, who finished with 12. Centennial junior Jalen Ortiz placed third with eight votes.

Shepherd had 208 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and 198 passing yards and two touchdowns in the Mustangs' 48-40 shooutout win with Copper Canyon.

The top five performers from tonight's games should be up for voting Monday.
