Updated boys basketball rankings, as of Jan. 30:

Division I

1. Corona del Sol 22-1

2. Pinnacle 22-3

3. Mountain View 17-6

4. Basha 21-3

5. Desert Vista 18-7

6. Cesar Chavez 20-4

7. Gilbert 16-5

8. Westwind Prep 16-7

9. Perry 19-5

10. Brophy 18-6

The top-3 stay the same, although an ankle injury to Cody McDavis comes at an inopportune times for No. 2 Pinnacle. The severity of the injury is unknown, but if he misses time it certainly makes life tougher for the Pioneers. Basha has won five straight to move up a spot to No. 4, while Desert Vista jumps back into the top-5 on the strength of a five-game winning streak. Cesar Chavez and Gilbert drop a little after losses last week, while Westwind Prep, Perry and Brophy stay put at Nos. 8-10.

Division II

1. Amphitheater 22-3

2. Peoria 18-2

3. Fairfax 21-3

4. Raymond Kellis 18-2

5. Poston Butte 19-5

6. Nogales 18-5

7. Saguaro 20-5

8. Paradise Valley 21-4

9. Arcadia 18-6

10. Salpointe 19-5

Peoria suffered its first true loss of the season (the first came in a forfeit to Saguaro), 43-39, on the road at Raymond Kellis. Amphitheater takes advantage and moves up to the top spot, while Peoria drops to No. 2. Fairfax holds steady at No. 3 and Kellis moves up to No. 4. Poston Butte had a solid win over Catalina Foothills last week and has now won eight in a row to jump up to No. 5. Nogales stays at No. 6, followed by Saguaro, which had wins over Paradise Valley and Tempe last week. Paradise Valley lost twice to fall to No. 8, followed by Arcadia, which has won four straight. Salpointe re-enters the rankings at No. 10, replacing Catalina Foothills.

Division III

1. Gilbert Christian 17-4

2. Thatcher 22-1

3. Snowflake 19-3

4. Holbrook 26-3

5. Window Rock 18-3

There was a shake-up this week, as Window Rock lost twice and Holbrook lost to Snowflake. Gilbert Christian keeps rolling along, and Thatcher has now moved up to No. 2. Snowflake defeated Holbrook to grab the No. 3 spot, while Holbrook and Window Rock hang on to round out the top five. Pinon is coming on strong.

Division IV

1. Arizona Lutheran 19-5

2. El Capitan 11-1

3. Desert Christian 22-4

4. St. Gregory 19-10

5. Phoenix Country Day 22-5

Arizona Lutheran had quite the week, knocking off Desert Christian and Phoenix Country Day last week to vault to No. 1. El Capitan stays at No. 2, and previously top-ranked Desert Christian drops to No. 3. Phoenix Country Day drops one spot to No. 5, while St. Gregory jumps in at No. 4 on the heels of an 11-game winning streak. Orme was routed by Northwest Christian and has dropped from the top-5.
