Scottsdale Christian Academy had to forfeit its 43-15 season-opening victory over Tucson Pusch Ridge Christian for using an ineligible player. The forfeit makes the Eagles’ record 1-2.

SCA athletic director Bob Fredericks said the player came to the Valley ahead of his parents, and all of the paperwork was not filed with the Arizona Interscholastic Association to allow the athlete to play while living with another guardian. The player’s parents have since moved to the Valley and the player has been eligible for the Eagles’ past two games.
