Outlook: The door to the 2A playoffs is open for Scottsdale Christian, but there happens to be a big bouncer standing in the way whose name is Valley Christian.

If the Eagles can pull off the upset, they’ll move into a three-way tie for third and fourth with Arizona Lutheran and Bourgade in the Metro Region, but based on tiebreakers, the Eagles would go in as the fourth seed.

However, that’s a very tall order, considering Valley Christian has not lost a regular season Metro Region game (not counting a forfeit this season) in three seasons.

“They are loaded,” Scottsdale Christian coach Jeff Fox said. “They don’t have any weak areas that we can exploit.”

The Trojans are coming off an emotional 20-19 win over Phoenix Christian that saw them struggle on offense. Coach Bill Morgan will try to re-establish some offensive continuity this week with running backs Tyler Gaab and Troy Roffi. Those two will need to rise to the occasion, as the playoffs loom, to take some of the offensive pressure off of quarterback Rob Brown, who has scored nine touchdowns in his last four games.

Address: 14400 N. Tatum Blvd, Phoenix

Records: Valley Christian 5-3, 4-1; Scottsdale Christian 4-5, 2-3

Last meeting: Valley Christian 48, Scottsdale Christian 6
