Scoring touchdowns was a simple task for the Queen Creek football team Friday night, especially since Casa Grande put up little resistance.
The Bulldogs rolled to a 61-0 victory over the Cougars, reaching the end zone on each of their nine possessions. Queen Creek (2-0) accumulated 523 total yards, rushing for 375 and passing for 148 on just 31 plays. Six of its TD drives took three plays or fewer, with four touchdowns coming on the first play.
Casa Grande (0-2) has surrendered 61 points in each of two games and has yet to force a punt this season. The most glaring problem has been poor tackling.

Three of the turnovers came deep in Queen Creek territory — at the 19 and 26 on first-half interceptions and at the 24 on a fourth-quarter fumble.
Ryder McIntyre had 99 yards on 17 carries before being forced out of the game after taking a vicious hit in the final period. The Cougars finished with 239 total yards, rushing for 183 and passing for 56.
Queen Creek scored seven touchdowns on its first 17 plays.
The Bulldogs took a 6-0 lead before the game was a minute old on a 31-yard kickoff return, a 42-yard pass from Carson Jones to Gabe Vasquez and a 12-yard TD pass from Jones to David Genatonio.
Matt Guida ran 58 yards for a touchdown on Queen Creek’s third play from scrimmage.
Then came a 66-yard interception return by Mike Graff, followed by Marcus Still’s 25-yard touchdown run on the Bulldogs’ fourth play.
Queen Creek went 43 yards in three plays on its next possession. Following completions of 16 and 22 yards, Jones connected with Graff for a 10-yard TD on the first play of the second quarter to put the Bulldogs up 28-0.
On the first play after a Casa Grande punt, Still ran 71 yards for a touchdown. Queen Creek covered 80 yards in seven plays on its final possession of the half, taking a 41-0 lead on Tucker Workman’s 2-yard run.
Queen Creek’s first play of the second half was a 43-yard TD run by Guida, who finished with 131 yards and two touchdowns on five carries.
Eric Jones capped an eight-play, 73-yard drive with a 5-yard TD run, and Layne Roshay’s 10-yard TD run with 4:18 left finished a seven-play, 76-yard drive.
Jones finished 8-for-8 passing for 148 yards and three TDs. Gabe Vasquez had three catches for 82 yards and Guida had 131 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
