1A and 2A basketball tournament pairings released

The pairings for the 2A boys and girls state basketball tournament that begin this week have been released. Girls first-round games are on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and boys first-round games are on Wednesday. Here are the pairings for each.

2A girls (Tuesday)

Northwest Christian at St. Johns; Valley at North Pointe; Arizona Lutheran at Pinon; Greyhills at Valley Christian; Miami at Willcox; Benson at San Carlos; Superior at Thatcher and Tombstone at Camp Verde

2A boys (Wednesday)

Westwind Prep at St. Johns; Hopi at Precision; Scottsdale Christian at Valley; Red Mesa at Northwest Christian; Miami at Thatcher; Willcox at San Manuel; San Carlos at Benson; Bisbee at Camp Verde.

The 1A boys and girls basketball state tournament pairings have been released with the tournament beginning for both boys and girls on Wednesday and continuing to completion Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Prescott High School, Bradshaw Mountain High School and Bradshaw Mountain HS East.

Here are the pairings for Wednesday's first round:

1A boys

Tanque Verde vs. Williams; Duncan vs. Mayer; Mogollon vs. St. Gregory; Valley Lutheran vs. Fort Thomas; Cibeque vs. Surrey Garden; Valley Union vs. St. Michaels; Veritas Prep vs. Pima; Joseph City vs. Gila Bend.

1A girls

ASDB vs. Fredonia; Bowie-Simon vs. Salome; Joseph City vs. St. David; Surrey Garden vs. Fort Thomas; Duncan vs. Salt River; St. Augustine vs. Rock Point; PDSD vs. Pima and Williams vs. St. Gregory.
