Highland split a pair of games in pool play at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic on Friday.

The Hawks beat Dimond High School (Alaska), 54-34, in their first game.

Melinda Myers led the Hawks with 14 points while Megan Brown and Mary Eckenrode scored nine points each.

In the second game Highland lost, 53-47, to Reno High School (Nevada).

The Hawks made a furious comeback as they trailed 41-24 at the end of the third quarter.

In the first three quarters Highland made just one three-point shot, which was a buzzer beater from half court.

In the fourth quarter alone the Hawks made five three pointers but it was too little too late.

Rebecca Rudd led Highland with 15 points while Olivia Lucero and Liz Rudd scored eight points apiece.
