Kalie Germaine singled in Stacey Waite with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to lead Mountain View over Hamilton, 7-6, in the Marcos de Niza/ McClintock softball tournament at McClintock.

Malia Falavei added a pair of hits and an RBI for the Toros, while Alyse Hette was 2-for-4 for Hamilton.

MARCOS DE NIZA/MCCLINTOCK TOURNAMENT

MOUNTAIN POINTE 5, GILBERT 1:

Val Villela went 2-for-3 with a triple and a two-run homer for the visiting Pride (5-4), in their win over the Tigers (8-7) at Marcos de Niza. Mountain Pointe pitcher Kari Quinn struck out 10.

MARCOS DE NIZA 8, DOBSON 6:

The host Padres (9-7) had just enough to get past the Mustangs. Jessie Whitfield led Marcos de Niza with a 3-for-4 effort with four RBIs and a stolen base, while teammate Jessica Mapes finished 2-for-3 with three runs and two stolen bases. Angelica Espinoza went 2-for-4 with three RBIs two lead the Mustangs.

SETON CATHOLIC 11, MESA 1: The Sentinels handled the 5A Jackrabbits (3-8) at Marcos de Niza. Heather Carpenter led the Jackrabbits with a hit and RBI.

NON-TOURNAMENT

CORONADO 10, DESERT RIDGE 5:

Tara Swanson went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the host Dons (6-4, 1-0) over the Jaguars in their 4A East Sky Region opener. Jackie Bordonaro added three hits for Coronado.

DESERT MOUNTAIN 17, PARADISE VALLEY 1: The host Wolves (9-2, 2-0) needed just five innings to get past the Trojans in a 5A Desert Valley Region game.

Lauren Kemp struck out nine and gave up only one hit for Desert Mountain. Catcher Stefanie Ewing was 3-for-3 for the Wolves with a home run and six RBIs, while teammate Christy McDaniel finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs.

PINNACLE 9, NOTRE DAME PREP 0: Bethney Reynoldson pitched a one-hit shutout and struck out 13 as the host Pioneers (8-3) downed the Saints (4-11) in 4A non-region action. Lauren Beck added a pair of hits for Pinnacle.

QUEEN CREEK 15, GOODYEAR ESTRELLA FOOTHILLS 3: The host Bulldogs (1-1) beat the Wolves in a 3A South Region 1 game that was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Tamara Lemlau went 3-for-3 with three singles to lead the Bulldogs.

SCOTTSDALE CHRISTIAN 14, GLENDALE NORTHWEST CHRISTIAN 4:

Dani Lougheed went 4-for-4 with two triples and four RBIs as the Eagles (5-0, 1-0) defeated the Crusaders in a 2A Metro Region game. Kacie Lyding added a pair of hits and two RBIs for Scottsdale Christian.

PHOENIX SHADOW MOUNTAIN 6, AVONDALE AGUA FRIA 5: Christina Davis drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning to lift the visiting Matadors (7-7) over the Owls.
