Outlook: Last year, Skyline was more experienced and varsity-ready than SDO.

This year, the tables may be turned. Skyline coach Pete Jonovich is looking to senior Ted Kook for offensive leadership at a running back spot. Jonovich’s main concern in the opener is the Coyotes defense. SDO likes to throw and did often last year. They may be able to run the ball more effectively this year, which will give Skyline more to defend. Senior Jonathon Bailey, who saw some time at quarterback as a junior, will be the starter in the opener for Skyline.

Address: 25250 N. 35th Avenue, Glendale

Last year’s result: Skyline 29, Sandra Day O’Connor 3
