Outlook:
The Broncos held on to the No. 2 spot in the 5A-I power-point rankings with a win over Desert Mountain last week, but it was the emergence of more offensive weapons that has coach Scooter Molander smiling heading into this week’s matchup.
Sophomore quarterback Bryan Berens completed 12 of 16 passes for 211 yards, a pair of touchdowns, and no interceptions. Those are his best numbers so far since taking over at midseason for Conor Hearn, who left the school last month.
Berens didn’t throw too much then, leading Molander to say he would attempt to get Berens some confidence and some more opportunities to throw.
Junior running back Jonathan Tease also got into the mix, joining backs Rahnee Dennard and Nick Natale on the list of Broncos capable of carrying the ball. Tease ran for 86 yards and two touchdowns against Desert Mountain.
