Shadow Mountain pounds Desert Mountain

Phoenix Shadow Mountain didn't let a little rain ruin its homecoming, defeating Scottsdale Desert Mountain 31-6 Friday in a 5A-II Desert Sky Region game.

Richard Garcia rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries for Shadow Mountain (3-4, 1-1). Defensively, Will Curtis had three sacks on Wolves quarterback Cory Campbell.

Campbell led Desert Mountain (3-4, 1-1) with 147 yards passing, completing 10-of-19 attempts. Shadow Mountain fumbled the ball three times in the first half, but lost only one.
