A couple days after disappointment, Red Mountain's softball team got back on the wagon.

With Gilbert leading 5-4 in the sixth, the Lions scored three runs and then added six more in the seventh to pull away in a 13-7 victory on Tuesday.

The Lions were led by home runs from Marian Ruf and TJ Beeson, who also added a single and a double with four RBI. Jordan Beck added three RBI and Bre Macha added three hits.

Macha pitched a complete game to earn her 4th win of the season with seven strikeouts.

Dani Nelson was the standout for Gilbert, both offensively and defensively. Nelson went 3-for-4 with four RBI and robbed Red Mountain of a couple hits defensively. Emma Ocker and Alex Astorga each had two hits.

The Lions are back in action again on Thursday against Desert Ridge at Red Mountain H.S. at 3:45 p.m.
