VX Roundup 3/7: Corona baseball, boys volleyball win nail-biters

Corona del Sol's Colby Hamilton smacked a two-run double in a four-run fourth inning, as the Aztecs held off host Desert Vista, 4-3, on Wednesday.

Corona del Sol's Chris Tate pitched five innings to pick up the win.

Colby Woodmansee did his best to keep the Thunder in it, going 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI in the loss.

Hunter Rodriguez pitched all seven innings in the loss.

Boys Volleyball

Matthew Seall had six kills and eight blocks, while teammate Jake Muneviller recorded a game-high 10 blocks to lead host Corona del Sol to a hard-fought 31-29, 25-15, 26-24 win versus Highland.

Issac Turley had 11 kills and 14 digs to lead the Hawks (2-1).
