A collection of the best individual performances in the East Valley in Week 7:
Ryan Finley, Paradise Valley: The senior quarterback threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns in a win against Arcadia.
Joey Gatewood, Paradise Valley: He was the leading recipient of Ryan Finley’s passes again with 11 catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Arcadia.
Matt Guida, Queen Creek: The junior running back had 140 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries.
JJ Husar, Desert Ridge: Facing his former school (he transferred from Basha after last season), Husar ran for 250 yards, caught a 48-yard touchdown pass, had an interception in the end zone and forced a fumble in a 48-28 win over the Bears.
Luke Rubenzer, Saguaro: The junior QB threw all three of his passes for touchdowns and had two carries for 72 yards and two more TDs in a blowout win over Phoenix Washington.
Christian Kirk, Saguaro: The sophomore had three catches for 141 yards and three TDs, plus a 23-yard TD run in the Sabercats win.
Sean Schweichler, Williams Field: He ran for 155 yards and three touchdowns on five carries in a blowout win over Apache Junction on Thursday to stay undefeated.
Jalen Brown, Mountain Pointe: The junior wideout/defensive back had seven catches for 254 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Corona del Sol.
Mark Andrews, Desert Mountain: The junior wide receiver continued his case as the best in the state with 14 catches for 199 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Highland.
Ryan McCord, Highland: In his return from injury, McCord took JR Brletic’s role in the backfield and rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns as Highland won at Desert Mountain.
Darell Garretson, Chandler: The senior quarterback threw for 418 yards and three touchdowns in the Wolves’ easy victory against Dobson.
Queen Creek defense: The Bulldogs’ Mike Graff (79 yards) and Luis Moreno (92 yards) each returned interceptions for touchdowns in a shutout of Higley, the team’s third consecutive shutout of an opponent.
Semone Brown, San Tan Foothills: The sophomore running back rushed for 173 of the Sabercats’ 406 yards in an easy win.
Matt Munsil, Scottsdale Prep: The senior receiver had eight receptions for 165 yards and three touchdowns, plus two interceptions on defense, one of which he returned 60 yards for another score in a win over Chandler Prep.
Jake Roh, Chaparral: The senior captain had six catches for 90 yards and three touchdowns in Chaparral’s win over Mesquite.
Evan Tompkins, Pinnacle: He had two of Pinnacle’s four interceptions on Friday night in a win over Glendale Mountain Ridge.
Marche Dennard, Brophy: The senior running back scored three touchdowns and reached the 1,000-yard mark for the season in a win over Avondale Westview.
