Dobson point guard Jaron Hopkins has made a verbal commitment to Colorado, he announced on Twitter Monday night.
Hopkins went on a visit to the school over the weekend and then made his decision.
The 6-foot-5 senior averaged 21.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 5.3 steals per game last year at Basha, according to Maxpreps. He has been on varsity since his freshman season.
Hopkins is rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com.
He had reported offers from Arizona, Auburn, Boise State, Colorado State, Nebraska, Oregon State, Penn State, Penn, San Francisco, Southern California, Texas El-Paso and Washington State.
Hopkins transferred to Dobson this summer along with cousin and former Basha teammate Torren Jones. Jones has since left for a prep school in Indiana.
The Mustangs are still considered one of the state title favorites in Division I because of Hopkins and Arizona State commitment Kodi Justice.
