Volleyball State Championships 2011

Saguaro at Chaparral

Saguaro opted to rest most of its starters and Chaparral rolled to a 65-0 win. In the end, however, both teams celebrated state championships: Saguaro in Division III and Chaparral in Division II.

Seton Catholic girls basketball championship
Seton Catholic and Peoria players vie for a rebound during the Division II state championship game on Feb. 25. Despite losing its three standout players from the previous two years, Seton Catholic beat Peoria, 52-44, to win a third consecutive state championship and sixth overall under coach Karen Self.

One item you missed in walking everyone on the Sports Year that "WAS" and that being an item relating to the Sports Playoffs. I cite the outrageous cost for Parents and Students to pay to view the various Playoff Games. Parents with 2 or 3 students to go to a football or baseball-basketball is totally outrageous. I think that HiSchool
Sporting events should be student centered at least, thus FREE entry for Students to attend the sporting events of their HiSchool team(s).
Play the games on the home turf of the team with the highest Power Points thru out the tourneys. Entry fee could be bare minimum for students especially baseball and football--$6.00 times 2,3,4, or 5 playoof games adds up.
Citing a Baseball team who gets in the loser bracket after their second game, and ends up coming thru the Loser bracket and winning it all would cost a max of 30 bucks for a student...Ridiculous....Fee's should be totally student centered. As for adults, 10 bucks a game -5 games for father and mother --100 smacker's, also ridiculous. Play all games on home turf with NO entry fee for students, and 5 bucks for Adults.....Thoughts?
