Three seniors at Deer Valley signed letters of intent with colleges last week.

Lauren Haeger signed with University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida to play softball. Kayla Kane signed with Phoenix College to play volleyball. Chelsea Clark signed with Glendale Community College to play volleyball.

Haeger will be the first in her family to attend the University of Florida. She described the campus as “very green” and is excited to be a Gator. Haeger has played varsity softball since her freshman year under Coach Carl Bakemeier. “I’ve been very lucky to have a coach as qualified at Coach Bakemeier,” she said. “He has done a lot for me.”

Kane was named Region Player of the Year in volleyball. She also plays club volleyball with Arizona Desert Sky. This is her eighth year playing volleyball. Her time at Phoenix College will be paid for because of her athletics. She plans to study Language Arts.
