Outlook: Someone is going to get in the win column tonight. North has been within striking distance in both its games, including a 36-26 loss to Mesquite on opening night.
Playing from behind has negated North’s running game, and quarterback Stefan Vallejo has already thrown 70 passes for 621 yards and four touchdowns in two games.
P.V. coach Donnie Yantis’ rebuilding project continues. The Trojans suffered a close loss in Week 1 before getting beaten handily by Hamilton last week. The running game has worked well for Paradise Valley, with Charles Hubbard averaging five yards per carry and Mike Williams a breakaway threat with every carry.
