No. 13 Chandler dropped the first two games of its Class 5A boys volleyball state tournament but the Wolves bounced back and won the final three games to defeat Deser Vista, 23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 17-15.
With their season on the line, the Wolves buckled down on defense with 24 blocks as a team, and outlasted Desert Vista in each of the final three games.
Chandler's Nathan Saunders recorded a team-high nine kills and Van Johanson had 47 assists.
The Wolves advance to get a shot at upsetting No. 1 Tucson Salpointe on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Campo Verde High School.
No. 7 Mesa Mountain View upset No. 2 Hamilton 25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 25-23 to advance to the semifinals. The Toros will face No. 6 Gilbert, Friday, at Campo Verde High School at 7:30 p.m.

No. 3 Williams Field took care of business against No. 11 Notre Dame, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22, to knock out the Saints and advance in the tournament semifinals. The Black Hawks will take on No. 2 Catalina - which beat No. 7 Seton Catholic in straight sets - on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Tucson Amphitheater.
No. 5-seed Tucson Sahauro defeated No. 4 Higley, 25-21, 15-25, 25-23 and 25-22 to eliminated the Knights from the state tournament. The Cougars play No. 1 Tucson Catalina Foothills on Friday at Amphitheater.
