Corona del Sol’s Jared Hirschi held off Eduardo Roa by less than a second to win a five-team meet that included McClintock, Mountain Pointe, Desert Vista and Marcos de Niza. Hirschi finished in 16:30 and Roa in 16:31
Girls cross country
Marcos de Niza’s Kylee Keiser won a four-team race with a time of 19:03 on Thursday, holding off three Desert Vista runners for the victory.
Girls golf
Xavier’s Daffodil Sanchez tied for medalist honors in matches on Wednesday and Thursday, helping the Gators to wins over Hamilton and Salpointe. Sanchez shot a three-under 33 on Wednesday and a 1-under 35 on Thursday.
