VX football rankings as of 10/22:

Division I

1. Hamilton 9-0

2. Brophy 9-0

3. Chandler 7-2

4. Red Mountain 7-2

5. Desert Ridge 7-2

6. Desert Vista 8-1

7. Westview 7-2

8. Mountain Pointe 5-4

9. Basha 6-3

10. Pinnacle 8-1

No movement in the top-6, where each team won. Westview moves up a spot to No. 7 after dispatching Mountain Ridge. Mountain Pointe was less than impressive against Mountain View, but since Basha was shellacked by Hamilton and Pinnacle lost to Desert Mountain, the Pride moves up by default. The Bears' slide continues, but they are still at No. 9, while the Pioneers drop to No. 10 with the loss to the Wolves. Everyone stayed in the top-10 because there doesn't seem to be another team worthy of the rankings at this point.

Division II

1. Chaparral 9-1

2. Salpointe 8-1

3. Cienega 9-0

4. Centennial 8-1

5. Ironwood Ridge 8-1

6. Marcos de Niza 7-2

7. Deer Valley 8-1

8. Apollo 7-2

9. Perry 7-2

10. Canyon del Oro 6-3

Nine of the ten ranked teams won. The only loss was Deer Valley, which dropped from the ranks of the undefeated in a wild, 69-68 loss to Glendale Ironwood. The Skyhawks dropped three spots to No. 7, allowing Centennial, Ironwood Ridge and Marcos de Niza to each move up one. Cesar Chavez is close to rejoining the rankings, but may need a win next week against Marcos de Niza to make the postseason.

Division III

1. Saguaro 8-1

2. Sabino 8-1

3. Williams Field 8-1

4. Cactus 7-1

5. Liberty 9-0

6. Thunderbird 6-3

7. Queen Creek 8-1

8. Peoria 6-3

9. Arcadia 7-2

10. Poston Butte 6-3

The top-5 stay intact, the way it has been for awhile. Thunderbird survived a tough early-season schedule and has moved back up to No. 6. Queen Creek and Peoria each gain a spot as Arcadia drops three by losing to Saguaro. Poston Butte has lost two in a row, but sticks in at No. 10 because it has played competitively against Division III powers Queen Creek and Williams Field.

Division IV

1. Blue Ridge 9-0

2. Snowflake 8-1

3. Seton Catholic 9-0

4. Show Low 7-3

5. Florence 7-2

Blue Ridge held on for a 10-9 victory over Show Low to stay atop the rankings, and Show Low stays at No. 4 by being so competitive. Snowflake and Seton Catholic hold tight at Nos. 2 and 3 with victories, and Florence stays at No. 5 after shutting out Miami.

Division V

1. Northwest Christian 9-0

2. Yuma Catholic 8-1

3. Thatcher 9-0

4. St. Johns 6-3

5. Scottsdale Christian 6-3

The top-3 remain intact with victories. Willcox lost to drop out of the top-5, and St. Johns moved up a spot by defeating Alchesay. Scottsdale Christian has won six straight games after an 0-3 start to jump in at No. 5.
