ON THE LINE: The Skyhawks official homecoming isn’t until Sept. 30 when they play host to Kingman. However, tonight’s game will be a homecoming of a different kind as Rick Mey, the Skyhawks coach from 1998 to 2001, brings his Eagles’ squad, to Deer Valley for the region opener.
BY THE NUMBERS:
Senior Austin Gaysue (No. 26) led the Skyhawks to their first victory of the season, accounting for 202 yards on 27 carries and three touchdowns. The Deer Valley back also was a part of the passing game hauling in 5 receptions for 31 yards, as Deer Valley beat Camelback 36-22.
