Graduates from two local high schools each finished in the top 15 at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Eugene, Ore., earlier this week.

Mountain Pointe graduate Travonn White finished in fourth place in the long jump with a leap of 7.72 meters, while Hamilton alumna Ashlee Moore took 13th place in the heptathlon with a personal-best 5,466 points.

Moore, who will be a freshman at the University of Oregon this fall, set an Arizona high school record in the 100-meter hurdles during the competition, running a time of 13.59 seconds.

IAAF World Junior Championships feature some of the top athletes ages 19 and younger to compete in a multitude of track and field events.
