The latest boys basketball rankings, updated on Dec. 19:

Division I

1. Corona del Sol 9-1

s. Pinnacle 11-1

3. Basha 9-0

4. Desert Vista 8-1

5. Cesar Chavez 10-1

6. Buena 11-0

7. Mountain Pointe 8-0

8. Hamilton 9-2

9. Mountain View 5-2

10. Brophy 8-2

The top-4 stay the same with perfect weeks. Basha had the most impressive win by holding off Cesar Chavez in overtime to stay undefeated. The Champions stay at No. 5, while Buena and Mountain Pointe both make big jumps up the rankings. Hamilton moves up a couple spots by beating Mesquite, while Mountain View falls as it still looks to find some help for Cam Boone early on. Brophy is back in the rankings on the strength of a five-game winning streak, while Gilbert is making a push. Red Mountain fell out but has still started the season impressively, and Mesquite dropped out as well.

Division II

1. Peoria 10-1

2, Amphitheater 11-1

3. Kellis 9-0

4. Nogales 11-2

5. Arcadia 10-1

6. Paradise Valley 9-1

7. Fairfax 6-2

8. Salpointe 9-2

9. Saguaro 8-2

10. Queen Creek 10-0

Peoria's first loss of the season came via forfeit after multiple players were suspended following a fight with Tolleson last week, but the Panthers will stay at the top until a team knocks them off at full strength. Amphitheater, Kellis, Nogales and Arcadia are all playing well and stay in the same spots as last week. Paradise Valley has won eight straight and moves up a spot to No. 6, followed by Fairfax, which drops one spot after losing to Brophy last week. Sunnyslope drops out after losing to Arcadia, which allows Salpointe and Saguaro to each move up a spot. Queen Creek enters the rankings as one of only three undefeated teams left in Division II, although the Bulldogs will need to prove themselves against tougher competition to be considered a legitimate state title threat.

Division III

1. Gilbert Christian 9-1

2. Holbrook 10-0

3. Window Rock 5-0

4. Fountain Hills 7-1

5. Thatcher 10-1

No changes this week. The three top teams had perfect weeks. Fountain Hills lost, but it came to talented Division I power Deer Valley and the Falcons actually led at the half, so no shame there. Thatcher has won four straight and sticks at No. 5.

Division IV

1. Phoenix Country Day 10-0

2. El Capitan 7-0

3. Desert Christian 10-0

4. Orme 5-0

5. Duncan 5-1

The top-4 remain the same and are the only undefeated teams left in the division. Duncan joins the rankings on the heels of its solid start. Phoenix Christian dropped out after going 2-2 in its past four games.
