Bre Macha threw 13 strikeouts in a complete game as Red Mountain beat Mountain View, 4-1, on Tuesday afternoon.
Payton Kornfeind finished 3-for-4 with a homerun and two RBI while Jordan Beck was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Macha saw the minimum batters over the first six innings and did not allow an earned run.
Baseball
Jake Howard finished 2-for-3 with two home runs and 4 RBI to lead host-Mesquite past Perry, 9-6. Garrett Jeffries got his second win of the season with seven strikeouts. Jeffries also stood out at the plate with two RBI. Seth Fretheim added a double and two RBI for the Wildcats.
Boys Volleyball
Host-Highland beat Williams Field, 25-17, 25-14, 25-13. Isaac Turley led the Hawks (2-0) with 16 kills and Ryan Morrison added eight kills. Collin Ward chipped in with 33 assists.
