A collections of the top individual performances from Week 5 in the East Valley:

Kyle Allen, Desert Mountain: The junior QB overcame a couple interceptions and threw for 394 yards and six touchdowns (including the game-winning TD pass with 12 seconds left) to keep Desert Mountain undefeated with a harrowing victory against Notre Dame.

Mark Andrews, Desert Mountain: The top-notch wide receiver caught 11 passes for 194 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winner from two yards out with 12 seconds left to keep Desert Mountain undefeated.

Jordan Brown, Paradise Valley: Brown returned two kickoffs for touchdowns against Phoenix Moon Valley, including a 96-yard return.

Thomas Bush, Higley: The senior tailback gained 139 of his team-leading 171 yards in the second half to help the Knights roll past Casa Grande Vista Grande. Bush and Mythias Young combined for 283 rushing yards for the Knights.

Aeron Carr, Red Mountain: The senior receiver caught four of Mason Thorman’s six TD passes to give him seven TD receptions for the season.

Garette Craig, Mountain Pointe: His 182 yards rushing and TD catch against Chandler helped overcome early deficit and penalties to beat the No. 5-ranked Wolves in overtime.

Marche Dennard, Brophy: Dennard ran for 173 yards and three touchdowns in Brophy’s win over North Canyon, setting up a big matchup next week with No. 1 Mountain Pointe.

Nick Duckworth, Notre Dame: The junior quarterback threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns as the Saints rallied in the second half before falling late against Desert Mountain.

Josh Eckley, Marcos de Niza: The junior quarterback threw for 374 yards and three touchdowns and ran in a two-point conversion in a loss to Ironwood Ridge. Eckley has 12 TD passes and zero interceptions this season.

Paul Elvira, Marcos de Niza: The Arizona-bound receiver caught six passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns in Marcos’ loss to Ironwood Ridge, with nearly all of it coming before halftime.

Collin Erickson, Dobson: The sophomore defensive back made the clinching interception near midfield on the game’s final drive to give Dobson its first win of the season and of the George De La Torre era.

Emanuel Gant, Tempe: The sophomore quarterback threw for 409 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Phoenix Washington. He’s completed 73 percent of his passes for 1,100 yards already this season.

David Gesicki, Seton Catholic: The backup QB continues to play like a starter for the Sentinels after he threw for 307 yards and three TDs and ran for 29 yards and three more TDs in an easy win over Maricopa.

Matt Guida, Queen Creek: He rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns on just 10 carries in QC’s blowout win over Apache Junction. Guida is averaging nearly 19 yards per carry on 50 carries (927 yards) this season.

Matt Haggerty, Seton Catholic: He caught seven passes for 172 yards and two scores in Seton’s easy victory over Maricopa.

Josh Hoekstra, Pinnacle: The junior running back ran for 200 yards and two scores in Pinnacle’s win over Horizon.

Bryce Kinsler, Cactus Shadows: The senior quarterback threw for a state-record 639 yards on 37 of 60 attempts, plus six touchdown passes, in a loss to Prescott.

Nathaniel Rodriguez, Desert Ridge: The senior safety returned to fumbles for touchdowns in the Jaguars win over Skyline.

Luke Rubenzer, Saguaro: The junior quarterback threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns, ran for 117 yards and a score and caught a 27-yard TD pass as Saguaro dismantled Glendale Cactus.

Massiah Smith, Tempe: He caught 11 passes for 269 of QB Emanuel Gant’s 409 yards passing, including two of Gant’s four touchdown passes in the win over Phoenix Washington.

Mason Thorman, Red Mountain: The senior quarterback tied a big-school record with six touchdown passes in a win against Gilbert. Thorman has 19 touchdown passes in five games for the undefeated Mountain Lions.

Carl Westlund, Paradise Valley: The junior wideout caught four of QB Ryan Finley’s five TD passes in a win over Phoenix Moon Valley and added a fifth touchdown on the ground.
