Corona del Sol girls golf team took three of the top five individual spots, Wednesday, shooting a season-best 169 to beat Mountain Pointe (178) and McClintock (207) at Ken McDonald Golf Course in Tempe.
Mountain Pointe’s Darian Spivey took the overall individual honors with an even-par 37, one shot better than runner-up Kaitlyn Saum.
The Aztecs’ Halie Carpenter (39), Brooke Taylor (41) and Kerry Lorenz (44) took third, fourth and fifth place, respectively. The Pride’s Sami Springs tied for fifth, shooting a 44 to round out the top five.
Girls Volleyball
Mckayla Ferris recorded 11 kills and six digs to lead Basha to a 25-11, 25-19, 25-17 victory over visiting Salpointe Catholic.
The win improved the Bears record to 4-1 on the season, while the Lancers dropped to 3-1.
