Outlook: Dobson is shooting to equal its best start in the six-year tenure of coach Tom DeMassa.
The Mustangs ran the ball well again last week, but picked up the pace in the air as quarterback Cody Lewis produced his best game of the year. Lewis rushed for 46 yards and passed for 166 in defeating Mountain Ridge. Shadow Mountain is improved over last year, too.
The Matadors were 0-4 last year at this time. They’ve won two games in a row, but will face their toughest game other than Week 2 against Tucson Sunnyside when they were thoroughly dominated, 49-0.
Address: 1501 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa
Records: Shadow Mountain 2-2; Dobson 3-1
Last year’s meeting: Dobson 40, Shadow Mountain 32
