Outlook: The Trojans begin their drive for a repeat against a dangerous Cowboys team.

Willcox has four talented offensive weapons and a big offensive line and the full attention of Valley Christian coach Bill Morgan.

“Their skill players match up well with us,” Morgan said. “I don’t know if they are quite as strong up front and I think that will play into our favor. We are really solid up front on both sides of the ball.”

The boys up front will have their eyes on Willcox quarterback Edward Blair, who has thrown for 1,122 yards and 13 touchdowns. Seven of those touchdowns went to Jeremiah Woolsey, a 6-foot-3, 195 pound senior receiver that Morgan said could be the best the Trojans have faced this year.

The Cowboys also rely heavily on running back K.J. Patterson, who is averaging 8.6 yards a carry and has 993 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Trojans come into the game fresh off a 55-22 win over Scottsdale Christian in which they scored 35 first-quarter points.

“I think we are starting to peak at the right time,” Morgan said. “We’re playing better football right now than we have all year.”
