Mountain Pointe junior varsity coach Hosea Graham will be the next boys basketball coach at Westwood, athletic director Reggie Castro said in an email.

The hiring is contingent on Mesa School District board approval at its next meeting, which could occur Tuesday night.

Graham was a finalist for the Mountain Pointe varsity coaching vacancy that went to former Chaparral coach Aaron Windler.

Graham was a longtime coach at Seton and led the Sentinels to the Class 3A state championship game in 2006 and 2004.

Other candidates for the Westwood opening included junior varsity coach Jake Neill and former Mesquite coach Tom Saltzstein. Eight candidates in all were interviewed, Castro said.

The Warriors went 14-14 this season. Graham will replace Paul Wilson, who resigned after six seasons.
