“I wish it would just be the whole state,” Campo Verde football coach Max Ragsdale said. “I hate transfers. I think you should play at your school, period.”

Max Ragsdale should think about what he's saying. He has benefitted heavily from students who chose to go to his school instead of their "neighborhood" school. Check Mesquite HS numbers. They've gone from 3000+ students to close to 1900 in a matter of three years. Where did they all go? Campo Verde's enrollment will top 2100 this year. Gilbert's "small school" is bursting at the seams.

I think the whole thought of telling a US Citizen who pay taxes that if they move their kid may lose out on the american dream of one year of high school sports is absurd.

Who decides who gets to move anyhow?
Why do they get that power over a whole family by controlling one kid?
Why does it even matter if a kid decides to move from one school to another school?
Honestly who really cares if they move?

This whole moving thing is way out of proportion, you accept new jobs for better pay and benefits, why should that not apply to a kid who may not ever play at one school but may be a starter at another school? For those kids that say "that transfer took my position and playing time" well then it was never really your's to begin with.

50 miles is STUPID. I am a teacher/coach and got a new job from the the West side to the East side. I moved my family after commuting for year while my son was a freshman. We moved to Chandler so I would not waste family time with a two hour commute. So the AIA is saying my son would have to be punished for our move?

This is a group that allowed a football player to go from Hamilton to Chandler back to Hamilton in two years. This type of reaction is typical because they have never enforced anything. Now they are going to make an absurd rule so again they have to do nothing.
