Address: 1501 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa

Records: Red Mountain 2-3; Dobson 3-2

Outlook: Until last week, the strength of Red Mountain’s defense was stopping the run. Chandler broke off a couple of long runs that helped the Wolves rush for 250 yards and ultimately snatch a victory from the Mountain Lions.

Tonight, Red Mountain must be staunch against the run since it is facing the Mustangs’ Marcus Richmond, who set a school record rushing for 384 yards in last week’s win over Phoenix Shadow Mountain.

Dobson hasn’t and really doesn’t want to throw with Richmond in its backfield. Despite Red Mountain’s troubles defending the pass (see Hamilton and Horizon) they’d rather force the Mustangs to throw.

Without being careless in the red zone or deep in their own territory the Mountain Lions could easily be 4-1 instead of 2-3. If the Mountain Lions can quit giving up the ball inside the opponent’s 10 (twice last week) they have a good chance of leaving Dobson 3-3. The Mountain Lions are also good at running the ball, led by quarterback Nick Orr and running backs Spencer Bodrero and Chuckie Henderson.
