Shady politics. Voters won't forget. I've never been more disappointed in Brewer. I have been behind her every step of the way, even when it wasn't popular. For this shady special session, she should be condemned.
Getting what she wanted became more important than doing what was right. 3 days ago
This is a travesty! Voters won't forget.3 days ago
With angry and bitter people like you LIG cultivating hatred, you will harm the district. I watched all of the meetings and don't know what you are talking about dress code.
Did you watch the last meeting? The budget is almost balanced with a 2M deficit. There has not been a single cut to kids classrooms or programs.
The people I talk to including teachers still think GPS is top notch. My neighbor moved bought their house last month because of the schools, knowing the new board. Another 5 kids coming over from Higley for open enrollment next year.
The district will stay great with or without you. 2 months ago
LIG and GHG, you lost the election. Give it up. You are ruining the district when you attack the leadership.
Anyone can watch the board meetings and decide for themselves.
Also, nobody is fooled by the new account by ang480 that has a history of 1 post. Unbecoming hatefulness cost both of you the election. Are you that desperate to trash the board which will ruin the district because of your own bitterness and personal agenda?

Daryl Colvin, Julie Smith and Staci Burk gave direction to give teachers a 3% raise.
No direction for teacher raises from Lily Tram or Jill Humpherys. Tram and Humpherys wanted all administrators to get a raise or the raise was a no go. FYI teacher raises put money in the classroom.
At least one commenter sounds like a former board member that lost the election.
McClellan criticizes board members who strongly promoted teacher raises. Hmm, strange. I thought McClellan supported teachers. Except when he has another agenda. Then simply ignoring the facts seems to be more useful. 2 months ago
Some people will never be happy and just want to complain. This board is not cutting teachers, they are giving them a 3% raise. If parents pull their kids from one of the best in the state for academics because the sports fees are raised up to the average, I am sorry for the kid.2 months ago
This changing of the guard at the GPS district office has been long overdue. 7 months ago
@Arizona Willie. Saving Johnnys self esteem didn't work. Drug abuse is correlated with low self esteem. If drug arrests are this high self esteem saving efforts have failed miserably. Kids need direction, structure and authority. 8 months ago
McClellan, a studio apartment in Massachusetts runs $2500 a month. Factoring the cost of living exchange Massachusetts spends the same as Arizona. That has been debunked many times over. Massachusettes also has a very high percentage of students that attend or have attended private school. Far more than any other state. Therefore, many of those high public school scores in MA are from children that were previously educated in private schools and as the economy changed their parents put them in public schools.9 months ago
Humphreys pushed and rallied spending 2 million for Renzulli software and the cluster grouping flop of a plan.
Gifted education at GPS had been failing for years. The board we have now won't fix it.
There needs to be a new board that wants better for our kids than cronyism and pleasing their superintendent buddies.9 months ago
