I grew up a Republican and even voted for Reagan. Then I got educated. I am sure many consider me an egghead, but I am pretty sure that I know more about history of this country and world than most people in Mesa. I am now a Dem because I was raised to believe that it was wrong to lie, cheat, or steal. In Junior High I added bullying to that list.
Guess what, as a senior citizen I find that the Republican party are really good at doing all those things. If you point out actual history they just call you names. A really good example is the mangling of the US constitution on Bob Worsley's website. I am sure he didn't write the principles claimed in the constitution on his website; somebody copied them from an out of state website. He might want to read the actual constitution some time. Please, we are out of Irag, getting out of Afghanistan, avoided sending troops to Libya, and more respected around the world than in years. Did Obama do everything he promised to do? No, he was naive in his thinking that the the Republicans would work together with him and other Democrats to improve the economy and other ills we were suffering in 2008. The House has voted 33 times to repeal ObamaCare (which is a figment of the Repubs imagination) knowing full well that it wouldn't pass the house or get through the President.
So, let's figure out what Romney might do based on his record as a business man? He would take over our govt., borrow 20 trillion from the Chinese, or Social Security, give bonuses to all those who elected him, keep getting his CEO sheltered tax fund income for 20 years, and watch the rich get richer and the middle class and less middle class people suffer, and then sell us to the highest bidder so we can go totally Chapter 11.
How about foreign policy experience? He did serve on a mission in France once. He was able to keep out of the military on that one as well.
Of course, he has outsourced his intellect to Ryan; the guy who lied about his sub 4 hour marathon. What can you expect from someone who lied a dozen times in his acceptance speech. WOW8 months ago
This shocking turn of events in Arizona where innocent are killed by a person so easily in our society brings up other issues to me. 1. The use of God-given rights as a reason for human actions without any reference to where they got that information, I guess that means they have a direct line that isn't available to all. 2. Why does the AZ legislators support policies or laws created by people outside of AZ. I would be surprised if all the people in AZ fully support the NRA. We know that S.B. 1070 came from Kansas, and the constitutional amendment came from California. Please think about people in Arizona and don't just go lockstep with ideas from outside.Jan 16, 2011
You keep using poll information from Rasmussen. Guess who is funding their polls? DUH, it is the corporations and Republicans. I can't believe how gullible your are.Oct 4, 2010
Last night the Clean Elections Campaign staff hosted a debate. All three candidates for LD 19 were invited. Only one showed up. Kit Filbey gave well thought out and articulate responses to the moderator's questions.
There was no debate; the other two candidates didn't show, didn't contact the presenters, didn't send anyone to the debate. Their arrogance is appalling. Since they are in the pockets of special interests they aren't interested in talking about issues, or even talking to people in their district.
It is a shame. Some 50 people showed up to listen to positions and opinions and they were dissed by Kirk Adams and Justin Olsen. Sep 15, 2010
