Gotta go with Leon on this one... That Fiesta plan is a boondoggle of epic proportions.3 months ago
It'd be nice if she wins her case... we tried the fish pedicure in Thailand and enjoyed it. Not sure how much grooming it did, but it felt cool and made us forget about the sunburn for a few. :)4 months ago
Love 'em. I've driven through the signals at both Ellsworth and Signal Butte, and they help clear traffic faster than waiting for a green arrow.6 months ago
I guess that's a nice positive incident for Mr. Joyce... last time I heard his name in the news was when he blew the call and cost Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga a perfect game. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5246454 8 months ago
Gotta agree with Engaged Voter on this one... Linda and most of the commenters here sound like the Taliban.
All of you can stick with your ignorant, barefoot, pregnant little women at home. The rest of us will continue on with reality.
BTW, in spite of "the sexualization of little girls," please note that teen pregnancy rates have been steadily declining for 60 years. (http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/tgr/05/1/gr050107.html)10 months ago
So she has no trouble deciding to have a kid and drop several hundred on a tattoo that looks fairly fresh, but she want us taxpayers to buy her food and help pay her bills?
I shouldn't be on the hook for her poor decisions.10 months ago
Sounds like good news for Mesa, although as a veteran myself, I don't think I like the police considering themselves to be "paramilitary in nature." That seems to be part of a problem in police/community relations. (Unless you're sheriff joke with his "press-conference-ready armored vehicle.")
At any rate, glad to hear that Mesa is emerging from some of the budget woes. The few reports I've had to make to Mesa PD have always been met by polite and professional officers. They didn't seem so very paramilitary to me at all. [smile]10 months ago
Bingo, you're right - there are plenty of shooters out there with no respect for the environment. On the other hand, there are also quite a few who try to make up for them... every time I go out, I take trash bags with me and try to pack out more than I took in with me.
Unfortunately, it doesn't take many bad ones to ruin it for everybody.10 months ago
From some of the responses to the legalization of fireworks in AZ, you'd think we were pushing flamethrowers on the kids. How do all the kids survive in other states where sparklers are a 4th of July right of passage? Do you really think some kid with a sparkler in a concrete driveway in Chandler is going to burn the Mogollon rim down?10 months ago
A quick search on google maps will show you that the former GMDPG property is exactly perpendicular to the runways at Gateway. In the seven years I worked there, not a single jet took off sideways to the runway and flew over the property (although we had a great view of the Blue Angels practicing when they'd come out for the airshow).
The Gateway complex has been growing like mad since Williams AFB closed, and with a new terminal and entryway on the east side that I believe I've read of plans for, this development will be in a great location.
While personally I'd still rather be working at the DPG, out in the middle of nowhere, development happens. This one seems like a good fit for Mesa and for the property.10 months ago
