'Cities are making investments..' Now, isn't that nice? The rich owners of the teams can continually shake down the taxpayers of the various cities in Az for countless millions of dollars for the building of new stadiums. If Spring Training is such a lucrative deal, seems to me it would pay for itself, doesn't it? Well, sayeth these owners,' why should we pay for all this infrastructure when these foolish tax slaves will fall all over themselves to vote in tax after tax after tax to fund these things? All we need to do is threaten to move to Florida, and that's all its takes!' What a deal, aye?5 months ago
vrsicks is pretty smug. He must have a secure gubmint job, which he can't be fired from, no matter how much he screws up.
Yes, there IS age discrimination; they just tip toed around it before. Now they are so in-your-face, they are just coming straight out with "we don't want anyone older than...say 30." Old timers, just go and die somewhere. Right, vr?
Like if you reach a 'certain' age, you no longer have the right to want a job?11 months ago
Seems like every week we have a Walk for This, a Walk for That. Have never been able to figure out how walking figures into a cure for cancer, or whatever disease they are pushing. Maybe I am missing something here. Methinks this is just another 'feel-good' thing for somebody.
All I know is money is raised, by the millions, for these various and assorted 'charities', but a cure is never found for any of the diseases. There is a reason for this; if a cure is found, there goes the Cause, and all the cush jobs associated with it. The six figure salaries for the Directors, etc. Like the March of Dimes; they switched from Polio to "Birth Defects", the all inclusive term. Pretty slick of 'em, wouldn't you say? Kept all those cushy jobs from going away.Sep 23, 2011
Well, it's nice you want every qualified national to be able to get a job in Az, Olivia.
But every other qualified citizen can't get one, so why should all Hispanics move to the front of the line?
Everything is now about race with politicians, the media, race based organizations, etc. It has never been worse for this in this country.Sep 23, 2011
These are uber-techie jobs. Most of them are in Ca. Methinks if you can't tell, from the description, what the job is, you ain't qualified. Which leaves out about 99% of us!!Sep 23, 2011
Am really surprised at this. If it was they refused to hire a caucasion or someone over 50, it would be more believable.Sep 23, 2011
Read an account where they did the math on this thing and will cost somewhere between 250k and 350k, depending on the job, just to create each job.
Here is my suggestion: If it is going to cost that much to 'create' 1.9 million employed people, why not just cut a check for 250k and mail it to each of the 1.9 mil.?
Not only would it be less wasteful, at least the recipients would spend the money into the economy, on real things, not p*ss it down a rathole, like gov. bureaucrats will do.Sep 18, 2011
Used to be they finished out one term before running for another office. Guess one really cannot expect a poli-prostitute to ever be anything but. Whack-A-Mole theory.Apr 29, 2011
80 million in rebates, aye? Doesn't it make ya good all under, Mesa that you got so much value for your money? Ha!Apr 29, 2011
Just a 'few blocks from the state capitol' probably means somebody connected to the government got the thing. Most of the time, it is someone with ties to the government, in one way or another, who hits these things. Rigged? You make the call.Mar 28, 2011
