Having John McCain and Jeff Flake act as "tour" guides for the likes of Chuck Schumer relative to border security and immigration is like having Chuck Schumer talk about the NRA as extra credit in class.
None of the pro-illegal alien Gang of 8 as well as a host of other career minded members of congress are concerned about preserving, protecting or defending the Constitution or making sure that the Rule of Law is enforced. they all scream and parrot each other saying that the existing laws are broken. OF COURSE THEY ARE YOU IDIOTS!! You passed them in 1986 and you have never enforced anything other than the amnesty part of it. How can a law be measured for effectiveness if you never have used it for the purposes it was intended. And now, they want to create a "dog and pony" show to prove to the american people that they really are concerned? What BDS.
and yes!!! While they are spending tax payer money to get a truly inbiased assessment of the border (LOL), they need to speak with the Border Ranchers and the Border sheriff's and Glenn Spencer of American Patrol and other american citizens who have had their property trampled and their homes invaded and many forced to close up and move. And while they are at it....take pictures of the Federal signage some 80 miles inland that warn american citizens that they cannot travel into National or State parks because of drug and human smugging cartels who just happen to be armed to the teeeth....and in many cases - under the threat of being arrested by the Forest Service, the park Service, the DEA, the BP and ICE. Come on McCain and Flake....have an honest conversation with the Sheriff's, especially Babeau of Pinal County, that is, if you really want to know the truth.
Folks, if it takes a charade by politicians such as this to pass so-called immigration reform, i.e. amnesty and a path to citizenship - then you know just how far they will go to shred the Constitution when next time and the next issue, it doesn't suit their opinions. This nation is in dire trouble and the 545 idiots inside the belway are the o0ne's responsible for it.2 months ago
Senator Worsley's comments are pretty much a "broad" representation of the real problems facing America and everyday americans re immigration, both illegal and legal.
First, to continue the old argument that our immigration laws are broken is disingenuous to say the very leaset. The 1986 IRCA Laws gave democrats everything they ever wanted. Amnesty was granted to 3 million law breakers but the sanctions in that Bill were never enforced. Now, after 27 years of absolute madness, the corrupt politicians, at every level of government, and their newly arrived partisans declare the 1986 law a failure and what are they doing? They are meeting in SECRET - holding the american tax payer hostage once again in order to give amnesty and citizenship to some 11 million illegal's (actually around 35 to 40 million) - and, they refuse to divulge their plans until after Easter so that they won't have to talk about it when they adjourn for the holiday. Indeed, there are two groups of the "Gang of 8" - one in each Chamber of the Congress.
Senator Worsley makes an invaluable point. Where Immigration Reform would help doesn't have to be contrained by reinventing the laws that were never enforced. It requires a simple action to allow for changes that would keep well trained foreign nationals in the USA. Likewise, their presence would serve as mentoring and training opportunities for more american students, thus increasing the growth of more native born - high tech career minded individuals. The current inaction on the part of the Congress is reprehensible. The "brain drain" that now exists is not to our advantage. But, when all is said and done, the first priority that we have is not to open the borders and sell our citizenship to the lowest bidder, but rather, to ensure that in our pursuit of economic growth, prosperity and individual opportunity - the Constitution and the Rule of Law are preserved for the generations yet to come. Money cannot and will not ensure our freedom or our liberty. 2 months ago
Great job Jesus!! When I was your age, many, many moons ago, several of my classmates were registered in a after school program via 4-H cqalled MEDEP. It essentially was a Medical Self Help Program that taught you about the basic applications of First Aid and CPR and Emergency Response Techniques. When I graduated, I joined the Navy and became a Corpsman....then a PA and then an Asst. Administrator in the VA. It's been a long journey, but a great one.
I wish you all the best in your travels and encourage you to put your nose to the grindstone and work as hard as you can to become the very best in what you have chosen to do. It looks as though you're getting a great start.2 months ago
I'm only too happy that I moved out of Mesa and into a County Island. Mesa has become nothing more than a "sanctuary" enclave under the dictates of the Arizona Accord (google) - a replica of the Utah Compact (google). So sad.3 months ago
You're absoloutely correct Mike. The Mesa Mayor and Counsil have routinely acted outside of the law, simply because they adhere to the religious and political standards of the Mormon Church to which a majority are associated with. When the Utah Compact was adopted by the Mormon church in Utah,l that is to allow illegal aliens a form of Church and State form of amnesty, it was also introduced in Arizona as the Arizona Accord and the Mesa City Council established a committee, with significant influence by La Raza and Valley latino groups for the purpose of adopting the premise that illegal aliens are "citizens" too, and thus, they should be afforded "sanctuary."
By affording religious based organizations tax advantages not approved by the people and opposed by current established law, as well as the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Members of the council who have proposed this "end run" around the law need to be reminded that it is not their money that they are spending illegally, it is the tax payers money.12 months ago
Whatever one's position may be re Pearce, he did co-write the Bill and steered it to passage. His request is not unreasonable. However, the mere fact that Brewer is allocating the reserved seats to her "staff", people who more likely than not "hate" Pearce and support illegal immigration and illegal amnesty....as does Brewer (her public opposition is all fluff), this tells you a lot about the GOP politics that is being played.....just like her stance on requiring the Obamasiah to provide a credible BC and NBC document to qualify to be placed on the ballot. She vetoed the Bill, rather than return it for changes that would have made more sense.
Brewer, like so many other left-leaning RINO politicans have been allowed to "dupe" the ignorant and the stupid of their party for far to long and, in this case, Miss Showboat Brewer is cackling like the hen that she is. As a former/ex member of the GOP....I wouldn't give the "Party" spit on the hottest day in the Sonora desert. The only reason Pearce lost the recall was because it was an OPEN election where thousands of dems voted for the opposition and not because the "new" guy was any good. He's worthless. And, Despite the so-called public support by the Governor and Arpiao, they and their staffs trashed Pearce in private.
Like it or not, Pearce does deserve a seat at the Court and Brewer and her overpaid lackey lawyers need to do the right thing. Indeed, they wasted so much cash in the defense of SB1070 when they could have gone directly to the Supreme Court via the constitutional provision of Article III, Section 2 - when questions of Federal Law are at issue and involve a State. Brewer is nothing more and nothing less than a camera hog. In her case....she takes credit for doing nothing. It only proves that ignorant idiots like her can rise to the top if you don't mind being used as a pawn of the Party. She's as dumb as a rock when it comes to the Constitution and immigration. She proved it when she was Secretary of State by refusing to investigate voter fraud that was reported to her office. You don't have to hit me more than once with a truck for me to realize that Partisan Politics on both sides is as dirty and dishonest as it has ever been. We wouldn't be up to our necks in corruption if any of the people we elected had an ounce of honor and decency in their bones. I feel like LOT at Sodom and Gemorha. Find me one honest politician and I will spare the entire government. Yeah Right!!Apr 21, 2012
I am always curious about what our elected officials have been doing with the "other than" Bond money that has been approved in the past, such as the taxes that are collected by restaurants in Mesa for "road" construction and maintenance. Likewise, Mesa has and continues to receive a "nice" oiece of the Homeland Security pie and if new communications systems are required to enhance the communications during "terror threats" or even day-to-day situations that pose a danger to the community, then pray tell why doesn't the council make an effort to go after those dollars, especially during a time when gas and groceries and other life necessities are tearing a hole in the family budget? When will the mayor and the Council submit a Public Report to the taxpayers showing how much in restaurant taxes, etc. they've taken in, what the money was spent on and how much is left over?
Likewise, since Mesa, under this and previous Mayor's, has become an active and participating Illegal Alien "SANCTUARY" City, one of many in the valley, it would be interesting to know how much of our tax dollars are being used to supply public services to this "group", including the costs associated with education, healthcare, criminal justice system costs, etc. Whenever "they" want more taxes, we get the bill, but public accountability as to how our money is collected and spent seems to always be a big secret.
Publish the budget in the newspaper and on line and make sure that none of the details are slanted, missed or "accidentally" forgotten.Mar 29, 2012
Pearce lost for several reasons. 1. He ignored the voices of many of his constituent supporters. 2. He did not support the Mormon Church "Utah Compact", a document drummed up by the Mormon Bishop's, Church Leaders, the chamber of commerce and the business leaders and politicians of Salt lake city and Utah....also supported by Mayor Scott Smith, a Mormon and several Mesa City Council members - also Mormons. The Utah Compact is, by definition, the continuation of the Mormon churches attempt to subvert the Rule of Law for the purpose of amnetizing illegal aliens. Such a document is not an extra-ordinary event for the Mormon Church, as its history is replete with such "side" agreements that have and still do....divert Mormon Loyalty from allegiance and loyalty to our constitutional Republic. 3. The recall election was akin to an OPEN PRIMARY where political considerations were cast aside and anyone and everyone was allowed to vote. LEWIS, a more than moderate RINO, won because of the influence of the democrat voters in the District. Had this been a Primary type election, Pearce would have won easily.
Likewise, the money being poured into the election by outside groups, RINO politicians and pro-illegal alien organizations, either directly or indirectly, i.e. LA RAZA, et al....against Pearce, cannot be discounted as a force to be dealt with.
Should Pearce decide to run in 2012, he will be a lot more wiser when evaluating the support of his base and should easily win in a political "fair fight.Nov 15, 2011
