People should work for a living. With that said there should be wages that are livable.
Read what the Mormon ecclesiastical leader for eight years guy says: "I watch people set (sit) home for the entire length of their unemployment, at $6 an hour, because a call center job was not a whole lot more than that,'' he said. "It was easier to set home and collect unemployment than to go get a job."
The article states the law provides a maximum weekly benefit of $240 a week. Only Mississippi provides less.
So, the religious guy is paying less than a livable wage. Now think of how expensive it is for people to go back to school and we wonder why this happens. 2 months ago
Wow...reading all those comments above you'd think we'd elected a new leader of the United States. Or the World and over night became a Thecracy.
Come on kids, this is America. We are not ran by a church and this guy might be a roll-the-dice for the Catholic Church, but that's about it.
Don't get yourselves all excited. We have not answered to the Catholic Church..or ANY Church since our relatives left Europe on a ship and sailed to America. Our US Constitution grants religious freedom and we are NOT a Theocracy.
And Leon, you use the same hysterical buzz words rather you're talking politics or religion. You only scare yourself. 2 months ago
Hellraiser, what a silly comment. Not worth a mature reply.
Ordance, another one thinking the Government is about to take their guns away and Obama is Hitler. It's amazing---how does one get so looney?
The NRA has LOST membership in the last few years. Why? Because they are no longer the decent organization that supported commen sense, but after mass killings of children in schools, they hysterically called for more guns and zero laws to close loopholes and block the mentally ill from buying guns. The NRA has lost respect from the people.
And I do agree with the poster who says the NRA is nothing more than a rightwing lobby. They feed fear into the minds of voters that their guns will be taken away and socialists are coming for them..... pure propaganda. Now who in history used that to wage war?2 months ago
Tax them. It's way past time.2 months ago
Why is the GOP so afraid of the government? They are NOT coming to take your guns--it will never, ever happen. The hysteria from the modern-GOP is insane.
If people do not want their guns, there should be a safe place to take them---not turn them into art or get the private sector involved.
Let's be honest, history will judge this moment when so many are killed by gun deaths and ONE political party, backed by the crazed NRA, stood in the way of protecing the people as the moment the GOP lost it's soul.2 months ago
It will be challenged in court and found to be unconstitutional. One guy, Rep. Steve Smith---of course a Republican--crafted this sillly garbage to save Sheriff Joe. One bill for ONE man.
One more stupid idea by the slowing dying Republican Party of old fools. 2 months ago
It's perfectly legal for him to be removed from office by recall. Arpaio just likes to sue everyone for everything.
BTW, Joe tripped and fell on a curb and ended up in the hospital. I've said for years having an 80 year old for sheriff is crazy...3 months ago
Right. Because the GOP losing the votes of Latinos, women, Asians, blacks and people who believe in science was not enough---now they want to lose the votes of the police and fire departments.
The GOP should just make a sign that says "Don't vote for us, we don't like you."3 months ago
Reading comments here and other places--I don't understand how these goofball GOPers get elected. From what I read/see very few are supportive of their rampant stupidity...3 months ago
Is the Arizona GOP NEVER done providing material to the comics of the world?
We need to get these backward thinking, hysterical fools out of office. Soon.3 months ago
