So she doesn't want people to incorrectly stereotype moms, while she then stereotypes all males. I love that people like her are too oblivious to notice their own irony. 1 week ago
I am not blaming James for hiring Platt who was in way over his head. I also think this is going to happen to Grothaus who has not coached in the high school level. There is much more to being a head coach than knowing the game. You have to be able to stand up to parents, players, and often even to administration. Basha the last 4 years was an embarrassment to watch on the basketball court. This year they supposedly have two D1 players, but had trouble scoring 40 points against decent teams. The two years before that with all the fine young student-athletes you mention, they played like a club team with no organization and discipline. I will give James credit for getting rid of Pinter who also should not have dads on his bench.
Let's not forget James hired Buskin and Burns who both had well documented histories of issues. Buskins are more known to the community because he coaches a high profile sport, but it could be argued Burns' history was just as jaded. Now James follows up these two hires with a young head coach with no experience as a head coach or coaching high school students. Maybe I should blame Rincon, but I know James is getting the final say. 2 months ago
Basha hired an almost identical coach 6 years ago and he barely lasted through the season. A guy who had never been a head coach and was young and was supposed to go deal with high school kids and parents. I do not doubt that he is a good man, but what is Chandler doing hiring someone like this to go to deal with the crazy Basha parents. Ken James has not figured it out. 3 months ago
As a 25 year teacher/administrator I think the rule as written was terrible. I moved from Scottsdale to East Mesa in my son's freshman year so my children would be on the same school calendar. Should he have had to sit for a year? Should someone who wants to move closer to work or to a better district have to sit out because it was less than 25 miles? 50 is rediculous.
No one mentions that there was a hardship rule which would have opened up a major can of worms. My schools have had students come and leave by using the hardship rule by faking out the AIA with a BS story. I could live with a 5 or 10 mile rule, 50 is way too long. 3 months ago
Neutral site games make no sense. AIA should be making it easier for students to attend the games. They just cannot get anything right.

I bet he got great recommendations from Busken and Hamilton. 4 months ago
50 miles is STUPID. I am a teacher/coach and got a new job from the the West side to the East side. I moved my family after commuting for year while my son was a freshman. We moved to Chandler so I would not waste family time with a two hour commute. So the AIA is saying my son would have to be punished for our move?
This is a group that allowed a football player to go from Hamilton to Chandler back to Hamilton in two years. This type of reaction is typical because they have never enforced anything. Now they are going to make an absurd rule so again they have to do nothing. 10 months ago
Anyone taking this job is foolish. Eight coaches in ten years is my estimate. Now they are in the highest division like they should have been all the time. Parents won't get that they will not dominate against the big schools. Apr 26, 2012
So they will leave if there is structure? That is what these players need. They are listening to the media and the hype, and they are not that good. No playoff wins in three years, and they want more of the same lack of structure and discipline. NiceApr 3, 2012
I totally agree that Nash is one of the most original players to play the game. Every night he does something that looks so simple, but no one else in the league would have done. It is refreshing in this day and age that he is not out asking for a trade or whining about something else. Feb 11, 2012
