VofReason: You're speaking in absolutes which I clearly did not do. I never said "all Republicans" believe those things. The whole point of the letter was that all Republicans don't.
I said a far-too-large wing of the party does; a wing that is at the forefront and consists of most of the GOP mouthpieces. Then I clearly state there are Republicans who do not feel that way.6 months ago
Chad H here: Thanks to EVT for posting my letter.
To respond to a couple of the non-trolls:
onerebel: Are there wingnuts on the left? Yes, of course. But to most of those on the left they are properly labeled as wingnuts. The big difference is they are not a "far-too-large wing of the party" as I mention in my letter. They are not the forefront of the party. Democratic congressmen/women don't take their marching orders from MSNBC pundits, Michael Moore, etc the way so many Republican elected officials take their cues from Limbaugh, Fox News, etc in an attempt to pander to their audiences.
Accuracy: It was Obama who had the plan was "divide and conquer through fear"? Obama hasn't had to deal with endless race-baiting and absurd fear-mongering for 4+ years? It's not class warfare when Republicans are shouting that all Dems are poor and lazy and only look for handouts? Really?
Dale Whiting: I'm also a fan of Huntsman. I've never voted GOP for president but would be tempted to in 2016 if Huntsman runs. I also was thinking of people like Jeb Bush when mentioning Republicans I'd like to see at the forefront of the party. Even if neither of them ran for President, it'd be great for everyone if people like them were leading the GOP.
Admittedly, I wouldn't have voted for either of them over Obama and I wouldn't vote for them over Hillary in 2016, but if they stayed true to their beliefs (though I certainly don't agree with all their beliefs) and I was questionable on the Dem candidate, I would definitely consider voting for one of those two in 2016. As long as they didn't flip into panderers. 6 months ago
