Hmm, Government can't be trusted with our health.
Insurance companies can't be trusted with our health.
Drug companies can't be trussted with our health.
Hospital conglomerates can't be trusted with our health.
I guess that leaves the Boy Scout manual, and the herb garden, out back, as the sources of true health, then?
Oh, and the Christian Scientists...[rolleyes]13 hours ago
AZ, Interesting take on La Raza...
As for producing a birth certificate...I think the number of people who are citizens and can't provide that are much higher than you think. I used to work in janitorial supervision, and we required a birth certificate, for employment. We'd generally hire the employee, and give them a couple of weeks to produce the document, especially since most people here, are from somewhere else. Anyway, we let go a lot of people, because they couldn't come up with it...sometimes because they didn't have the money to get it, or the ability to read and write, and they'd quit, rather than admit to that.
There's a reason the Republicans, especially, are pushing this idea. It's because they know the poor, when they do vote at all, vote Democrat...and, they don't carry or keep birth certificates, either.
You may be right about making it more foolproof to keep illegals from voting. However, I don't think the birth certificate is necessarily the best way of doing that.
Maybe make the proof, in the form of social security card, and photo ID?Yesterday
Update: truth, I see that post is now deleted. Very interesting--it shows that no one is singling you out, necessarily. It's just automatically deleting, whenever that report thing is selected, which is waay too easy.
Again, sorry, for deleting your post...btw, I have not done so, before, nor would I ever delete anyone's post, no matter how much I disagreed with it. That report thing should be so that an administrator can review it for whatever the criteria they have, to do so--not just automatically! This is worse than the "length of post is spam" thing, a month or so ago...[censored]2 days ago
I wondered why you keep posting, in unrelated threads. I don't see where your posts are getting deleted. Most of the functions for this site are automated, like the censor software, for certain words. It's annoying, sometimes, but so is any "spell-checker" type program.
Here's a test--in the post just above mine, where you write, "If you can't win with debate delete, delete, delete
I clicked on the little thing that says, "Report", and it flagged the comment, in red, saying that I reported the comment. Maybe that's how you get deleted? I'm not sure--it doesn't say, but your comment is still there, after a couple minutes...anyway, apologies, if it does get deleted now, but that's the only thing I can think of that would make that happen, other than some "real"person monitoring it, which I seriously doubt. They don't even update half the pages on this site at all, if you haven't noticed.... 2 days ago
Looking at the satellite map, on their site, it looks like a standard pedestrian crosswalk, at Sycamore. Not sure what the problem is, with buses. Looks like it would be a better idea to have a pedestrian crosswalk going directly to the parking area, instead of having people walk to the Sycamore intersection first. I would imagine that a lot of people simply try to cross without using the crosswalk. Is that your contention, Pamela? 2 days ago
AZ, I'm not saying that it's impossible to obtain a fake ID...of course it is--just ask any teenager.
What I'm saying is, if this was the case, then why doesn't Mesa have a thriving Democrat party, complete with elected officials? Why doesn't Arizona have at least a majority, in the legislature? These millions of illegals have been here, for several generations, now, after all...hmm, maybe it's their legitmate offspring, born here, and trying to release themselves from the shadows, that are forming the grassroots organisations, and all?
Nope, sorry, I'm not buying it. It's pretty evident to me, that the overwhelming majority of illegals here are guilty of sneaking across the border, and not a whole lot else. If anything, their punishment, for the temerity of doing so, is to live a life only marginally better than what they've left. They are still working as slaves--it's just that now, their masters speak primarily to them, in English, and they aren't starving, anymore...you know, the little things...2 days ago
NEVER happen under a Republican president?
Embassies, under Bush's watch, were attacked, at least seven times...the press did little, other than report the attacks (sounds familiar to me). Huge sums of money, funneled into Iraq, and nobody could find out where billions of it even went...murders of civilians, by Halliburton security guards, and no one goes to jail. The collapse of the market, and no one goes to jail.
And now, once again, since I've brought up Bush, you'll feel free to call me a Liberal, won't you? Even though, I could bring up similar examples from the Clinton years, and all the way back to Nixon. I could even go back to Johnson, in my own experience, of how the press covers and lies for those presently in charge of their paychecks. You're probably too young to remember the press reporting "light casualties", nearly every night, on the news, for years, while the coffins lined up in seemingly endless rows, waiting to be shipped home.
Sorry, the constant and repeated statements by neocons, and yourself, about the press being in Obama's pocket, are beyond absurd. They are in the pocket of a few very rich, powerful men, who's goal seems to be to keep us informed, only enough to sell us more and more ads.
I submit that it is you, who stand on the perch here...but, it's in a gilded cage perspective of partisan perspective.
The chances are very slim, that we will ever find out the details of Benghazi. Unless it's left as a memoir, to be opened 99 years, after the death of Obama...
Meanwhile, it will line some pockets, buy some influence, and shape the malleable.

Before I would support your views, I would have to know a little more about the subject. Things like, what makes someone a "midwife", and the training involved. Is there a certification process? Is there a danger to the public, in terms of unscrupulous business practices, or health and safety issues?
I think it's the government's purview to assure the health and safety of its citizens. If midwives meet a basic standard of care, then there should be no problem employing their services, as alternatives to more traditional care. 3 days ago
#1- I'm at a loss, here, venter...are you venting about the lack of sane people, or the lack of non-political talk? I comment quite frequently, disagreeing with partisans. This gets me labeled as the opposite of whatever that person perceives themselves to be, on the political spectrum. I will grant you, that there's very little useful dialog going on, in these comment pages...however, once in a while, some points get made, and a thoughtful discussion happens...it's rare, because of the crazies and the trolls who seem to have nothing better to do, than rant the same old line, day after day.
#2- Another unclear vent...a Phoenix policeman was killed by an illegal alien? And, you're saying that the President and the liberals want to give illegals 007 status? I find that difficult to believe!
#3- Oh, I can imagine it! But, why are you so concerned about such a small amount (relatively) of money going for graft? That's not even a down payment, on the lobbyist kickback fund's wine list!
#4- Rah, rah, rah!
#5- Oh, you wouldn't have to go any further than from anywhere you could throw a rock, from where you are currently standing, to find a house full of guns, here, sport! But, tell me, why would you want to steal a bunch of guns? The market is already flooded, so I doubt you'd get much for 'em than pawn shop prices. That's a lot of risk, for little return. Did you ever see the movie, "Raising Arizona"? Sound right up your alley!
#6- Yeah, right!? 70, out of 300, and the only ones who actually got turned down were Liberal political groups. I mean, it's the job of the IRS to look into anyone who even might be suspect. I'd say that a group, who names themselves "tea party", or "take back the nation", or "don't pay taxes", would be pretty suspect, as to their legitimacy to be tax exempt, and fit the criteria for this status. I think Obama is aiding this, as a political deal, with the Republicans, and their mutual financial masters. After all, everyone hates the IRS, anyway, so they make pretty good scapegoats...I think this is just the result of the Court opening the secret super funding groups, for elections, and the "companies are people" findings. This has brought a flood of applicants for this tax exempt status, and has overwhelmed the IRS, who are habitually underfunded, anyway.
#7- Voter fraud, out of control? No, it's not...it's statistically insignificant. However, influence peddling is at an all time high, thanks to the secret political superfunds, and the groups pretending to be non-profits, helping the poor. These groups are both conservative and progressive, btw. The IRS is almost powerless to stop this, until the law changes...meanwhile, see #6.3 days ago
And we think that illegals are all about voting, because they really like the attention, right? Pu-leeze!
When someone registers to vote, for the first time, they must submit identification, which is traceable. Photo ID, employer check, etc. Now, one might be able to make a case for the government not following up on the verification process. I don't know, maybe they do a random sampling, but I've never heard of their finding a lot of illegals trying to do this. It just makes no sense to risk criminal prosecution, not just deportation, for the purpose of voting for a candidate that doesn't give a darn about immigration, anyway. And, that's both parties...
Personally, I think voting should be mandatory, and easily accessible, for every citizen who is not a convicted felon. All ballots, however, should include a write-in option, and/or an option of "no confidence". I hate it when people are complacent about voting, and I hate it even more, when people try to introduce requirements for who can vote, beyond being a citizen in good standing. And, that includes people who would make voting more complicated than it has to be, simply to weed out the poor, or the slow-witted.
Equal application to all means just that...4 days ago
