What is REALLY needed is term limits for ALL of the lawmakers. Congressmen, Senators. We also need to NOT allow ANY person that has held a political office to become a lobbyist. Also we need to limit the amount of gifts and contributions to ALL political hopefulls to NOTHING. They are their to serve the people NOT to stuff their own pockets as they are doing now.
These are people that get a good salary and fringe benifits as well as the best health care and all of this is a lifetime of benifits for all of those that we as Americans put our faith in.
When I lose my job ALL of my benifits stop as well as my paycheck. Why should we as Americans continue to pay for some of these fools for life when they really didn't do any good to begin with
There are some major changes that need to happen long before we consider extending the length of terms for a president.4 months ago
WHY is ANYONE STILL CONTRIBUTING TO THE UNITED WAY???? Where about 10% of your contributions goes to help anyone or anything. The rest of the money raised is used to keep the employees and managment of The United Way paid and with money for bonuses for their team. It is a money making business.
If you really want to help then go and help the Salvation army and serve food or your local food bank or your church. So many ways to help those that need it WITHOUT lining the pockets of greedy upper managment thieves.6 months ago
Sherriff Joe is like having Alzheimer's. You can't remember when you got it. Why you got it. How to get rid of it. but the worst thing of all is you know you don't want it. Hopefully in the next 4 years the public will get tired of his ego and find someone that CAN really do the job with out all of the selfserving press conferances and headline grabbing acts.
Yes he has done a lot of good for the people of Maricopa county but none of it with out the circus tents and vaudville acts that he seems to need. A true ledgend in his own mind.6 months ago
I think Intel should be ashamed of their actions. The B.S.A. have ALWAYS been for the good of the young men that they have worked with. To rid their ranks of perverts should in no way be a reason to pull the funds by Intell. After all the name of the organization is The Boy Scouts of America NOT The Boy and Pervert Scouts of America. Many Presidents and leaders have been raised up with the dedication, ideals and princables taught by the B.S.A. With the removal of the Perverts as leaders from this organization it insures that the young men of America and their family's will not have to worry about having their children being molested by either leaders or fellow Scouts.
Why doesn't Intell start another organization that deals with ONLY the gay/perverts as both leaders and their followers. This way everyone will be happy.8 months ago
when I used to work at Motorola United Way came to our company and made their pitch. So several of us got together and pledged to give $20.00 a week each to a charity that we choose to help. We were all horse lovers and choose a very worthy charity that we all believed in. "HORSES HELP" was the chosen charity. They help children with severe handicaps ride around on horses. Since we all gave our time to this WONDERFUL organization we thought that this would help with the expenses. When we went to the managment of "HORSES HELP" to find out how they were doing we were told that they needed money badly. We asked if they had been getting funds from "The United Way" No they were not. Here we were having $20.00 per week taken out of our checks ($120.00 a week total] for over two years we were suprised to find out that NOT ONE RED CENT had made it to our choosen charity.
SO we got in touch with "The United Way" and they explained that our donations were all used in "Managment Fees, Collection Fees, Book Keeping Fees, and other Working Fees" and that there simply wasn't enough funds from our contributions to be able to give "Horses Help" one red cent. So for the over two years that we had paid into "The United Way" over $13,000 dollars NONE OF IT HAD MADE IT OUT OF THEIR OFFICES. NOT ONE RED CENT.
CAUTION "The United Way" is the BIGGEST RIP OFF AROUND. You might just as well save your money for a year and walk on down to your favorite corner and throw it all up into the air as this will help FAR MORE than ANY CONTRIBUTION that you give to this GIANT MONEY PIT that in reality help no one but themselves. Look up their CEO and you will find that he makes a 7 figure salary, the Board Members all make 6 figure salarys and their offices are VERY WELL furnished and appointed.
PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND USE IT IN A MUCH BETTER WAY THAN TO FUND THESE THIEVES. Contact your local church or food bank or any one of thousands of charities that do not get one red cent from "The United Way" THIEVES.Apr 8, 2012
What a delimma for the city of Tempe. If they shut the Clubhouse down where will our youth go and if they don't how many more shootings and or deaths will happen there? Maybe it is time for the parents of those that attend such gatherings to stand up and take responability for the actions of their youth. Provide them with activitys that don't bring in the elements that seem to be present at this "Clubhouse". My best wishes and prayers go out to the city of Tempe in this affair.Mar 6, 2012
What a load of manure. When I get a job most times I have to go down for a drug test and within 24 hours my Employer has the results they need. For the Mesa police dept to have to wait for a year is total B.S.
Pot smoking drivers have been around for years and years now and up to this point haven't been a problem for the Mesa police dept and now suddenly with the passage of these laws [which I am against] the Mesa police dept has seen an increase in this problem.
I think that either this writer is trying to boost his ratings in the newspaper world or has been lied to by the Mesa police dept. My guess is that BOTH this reporter AND the Mesa police dept are being FAR from honest and are just trying to pull the wool over the publics eyes for their own good.
WHAT A BUNCH OF MANUREMar 2, 2012
So what he admits to is that he knowingly had a sexual affair with a felon and didn't arrest him and or prosecute him for being a felon/illegal. Doesn't the law of the land cover such a felony as he admits to? How can he run for ANYTHING with this charge. Why hasn't he been arrested for this felony? Is he above the law just because he is a law enforcement official? This is a VERY bad case of abuse of the office AND the laws of this country. PLEASE SOMEONE ARREST THIS FELON BEFORE HE DOES MORE HARM!!Feb 18, 2012
