• There is and always has been a path to citizenship to all people around the globe. Believe me - I went through it. It's an arduous process - expensive, time consuming and at times intimidating, but it is there and it works. During the Bush years, the time it took for a green card holder to become a citizen whent from over 2 years to right around 1. Major improvements were made! What our elected officials are doing IS AMNESTY - don't let their carefully crafted words fool you. This is nothing but vote buying and in the case of democrats, enslavement.

• AZWillie - first, you may want to surf on over to OpenSecrets dot o r g and click on the Personal Finances link. There, it will show you that SEVENTY PERCENT of the wealthiest members of congress are - you guessed it - democrats. Next, you might take a gander at the CNBC article about "8 of the 10 wealthiest counties in America voted for Obama". Then, meander over to Newsmeat dot com and click on "Hall of Fame" - there you can sort - by Newsmeat's categories - the biggest political contributors. Doesn't matter what category you click on - whether it's celebrities OR CEO's, the overwhelming majority of the wealthiest contribute to dems. As a "last resort", I urge you to do a little cross-referencing between the Forbes annual list of the "Wealthiest Americans" and check them out on NEwsmeat or Opensecets and see how they spend their political contributions. Again, the overwhelming majority fund the DNC machine.

• Election year after election year, we have the same level of fearmongering from the crowd on the left. They use children and teachers as pawns in their little game of money laundering and employ every scare tactic ever dreamed up by the collectve (?) minds of Saul Alinski and David Axelrod. Problem is - THEY HAVE NO PROOF that us giving them more money every year (as we have in the past - over and over and over again) has improved anything in education - quite the contrary, things have gotten worse. Even the most basic common sense tells you that you STOP throwing money after something that is that broken. The problem is, NOBODY in government - whether the lowest paid city clerk or the highest paid POTUS is interested in "fixing" anything. They've belied up and latched on to the government teat and they'll be damned if they let go.

• If what "Ms. Friend" contends is true, then why were MILLIONS of false registrations made by ACORN volunteers? In some cases, tens of thousands of registrations at one bogus address in Texas. In another, tens of thousands of people - including corpses, cartoon characters and celebrities registered at a halfway house in Cleveland. The unfortunate TRUTH is that the nefarious folks who brought us groups like ACORN found and exploited a glaring weakness in our system of governance. It's time we fix it so that those who have NO LEGAL, CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO VOTE can't. The ONLY way we can do that is to require ID to vote...PERIOD. Now - what about the MINISCULE part of our population who IS allowed to vote but does NOT possess the proper ID to vote? Let's all do what we can to help them get said ID.

• Last venter - the lowering of taxes had very little to do with the recession. The lowering of standards to loan people money to buy houses, ala Franklin Raines and Bill Clinton - DID. Bush saw it coming and he urged congress to act as early as 2003. NOTHING was done. Barney Frank actually said "there is NOTHING wrong with how Fannie and Freddie are doing busines" (meanwhile, he's raking in oodles of dollars in campaign contributions from them). Franklin Raines himself setup the whole racket to ensure HE PERSONALLY POCKETED $90 million in salary. NINETY MILLION!!!! He scratched Clinton's back and Clinton scratched his, then voila - the housing bust!! Completely predictable from an economists point of view, but the leadership of the DNC said an emphatic "NO" to Bush and company when reform was urged. Nancy Pelosi. Chris Dodd. Barney Frank. Harry Reid. They all - EVERY ONE OF THEm - balked at reforming Fannie, Freddie and how banks loaned money to people to buy houses.

• RE "venter" 5.. YOU are the problem with politics these days. You lay around, fat and happy, thinking the pretty little people on CBS (See B.S.) are telling you the truth and getting the bulk of your news from a comedian with a comedy show on the comedy channel or some overweight filmmaker. Wake up! Read this ONE bill that Carmona and company are touting as Flake's "anti-military stance". READ THE BILL. Sure, the title says "veteran" and there is ONE paragraph in the 6 page bill that says "veteran" in it, but it is nothing more than ANOTHER multi-billion dollar unfunded mandate. Didja know that one paragraph in the bill says the government can take away your passport if you're late on your taxes? Beware Timmy Geithner!! TRUTH is, Flake has voted in favor of HUNDREDS of pro-veteran, pro-military bills in his career. Another TRUTH is, that there are ALREADY EIGHT "veterans jobs programs" existing in our country...EIGHT... 8... OCHO... HUITE...HACHI...ACHT...YUH-DUL...EIGHT!!!!! How many more do we need? Better yet, if the previous EIGHT haven't worked - WHY SHOULD WE PASS ANOTHER? (My opinion is to tell congress to get the hell out of the way). Do yourself a favor and READ THE BILLS that our congress is passing... if you can stomach it. Most of them are useless and designed for nothing more that politicking (like this most recent "veterans jobs bill" that the democrats are trottting around like it's some holy grail). Nothing but window dressing and nothing but MORE unfunded mandates.

• Requiring that a person be able to verify their identity is NOT disenfranchisement - it's sensible. The amount of voter fraud perpetrated in the 2008 election which vaulted an unknown, inexperienced individual into the White House should have never happened. Voter fraud IS a widespread problem in our country. What IS shameful is the democrats suppressing military votes... now THAT'S something to be ashamed about.

• Furthermore, Presidente Fox, nobody has a problem with the "talent, wisdom and excellence" of the people who come here legally; what we DO have a problem with are the dregs of your society - including the criminal element - who cannot and DO NOT WANT TO LEARN how to read and write. What we DO have a problem with are YOUR citizens protesting against OUR government, while giving YOUR government (that, mind you, turned their backs on them) a free pass.
