SHOW LOW — The state Transportation Department is closing some roadways in the White Mountains for the winter.
The White Mountains area and its vibrant communities are not only known for their wonderful seasonal weather and outdoor attractions, they also know how to have a good time. The Mountain - the locals' endearing term - has a strong tradition of hosting festivals of all kinds that celebrate the Native American arts, bluegrass and everything in between.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is reopening State Route 260 between the Hawley Lake turnoff and the South Fork junction. The road was closed because of the Wallow fire in eastern Arizona.
